About UsOur entire team works together in our combined office/workshop to ensure excellent communication among employees. This results in efficient, quality production, saving our clients time and money. All welders are certified to AWS D1.1 and D1.5, which gives us the ability to professionally perform the SMAW, FCAW and GTAW welding processes. Our shop includes 100-ton ironworkers, Peddinghaus hydraulic web and flange punch machines, a band saw and welding machines. The facility has 5-ton and 10-ton overhead cranes in the shop and 10-ton lifting capability in the yard.
Our Team
Jorge Hermida has been working in steel fabrication for over 30 years. He started fabrication as a teenager working with his father, Manuel Hermida, in the family business started by his great-great-grandfather. He later worked as a foreman over 25 employees on many structural jobs ranging from 100 to 1000 tons per job, usually overseeing multiple jobs at one time. In 2004, Jorge founded JHDS, his detailing services company for miscellaneous metals.
In 2007 Jorge founded JHDS, one of the fastest growing structural steel fabricators in the tri-state area. The workshop is located in Lincoln Park, NJ, with easy access to New York City, North, Central, and South Jersey, and Eastern Pennsylvania. Jorge Hermida, Jr. is following in his father’s footsteps, studying engineering at NJIT. He brings youthful energy and a passion for learning the ins and outs of the business to JHDS. “Junior” works with Jorge Sr. on all aspects of estimating and the execution of on-going projects. |
